About BTS

Technologies of tomorrow presented today...

The Bristol Technology Showcase (BTS) is focused on emerging technologies and those themes encompassed in the 4th Industrial Revolution with a focus on how they will affect businesses and wider society.

A founding event of the Bristol Tech Festival, BTS has run successful events in 2018 and 2019 before taking a break in 2020.

In 2019, BTS ran a headline event at Aerospace Bristol, under the nose of Concorde at its home in Filton, Bristol. Pulling together 35 speakers with global and national recognition and supported by the regional universities, public sector and private sector organisations, BTS brought together one of the strongest line ups of technology, subjects and speakers the region has ever seen.

Our Story

Nick has worked in technology all of his professional career and has been fortunate to meet some brilliant people along the way. In 2016, his focus moved heavily towards emerging technological capabilities, the World Economic Forum and the 4th Industrial Revolution.

After reading various books and having had many discussion, Nick created BTS as a platform to talk about what these new technologies could mean to businesses and society. Reflecting on the positives and negatives of these capabilities and with optimism and hope of what these will bring the world of tomorrow.

A pilot event was held in the Spring of 2018 with the first full BTS taking place at the Arnolfini museum in Bristol in November 2018.

The following year, Nick was joined by his brother Paul, a commercially focused business leader to help establish a significant event at Aerospace Bristol, the home of Concorde.

Nick and Paul remain passionate about Bristol, the region, emerging technologies and continuing to grow a platform to talk about how technological change and the 4th Industrial Revolution can improve our businesses and society.
